Yoga

At 24 years old, she began to explore Hatha Yoga. There was something about the connection to breath that really resonated with her. She started to dig deeper within to find a true spiritual connection and way to fill her soul. Celeste was used to filling the void within herself with drugs, alcohol, men, money, etc. This was different. This was deeper and far more fulfilling. It became her daily religious practice and she would explore the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda at The Self-Realization Fellowship. Her yoga studio was down the street in the little beach town that she was living in. She would ride her bike there daily and felt such a sense of freedom. Her instructor taught her so much about connecting to the divine. Celeste could feel the connection with God when she was able to quiet her mind.
She felt she was doing so well that she decided to take herself off her anti-depressant and anti-anxiety medication. Without consulting a doctor, and under the impression that her PTSD no longer affected her, she stopped taking her medication. For months she used yoga to manage the anxiety.
In 2006 Celeste had a nervous breakdown. The evening was a night of shear panic and delusions. It was dark and scary. The road to recovery was hard and long but yoga helped to pull her through. She also learned to tap into her spirit guides and guardian angels. The breakdown pushed her deeper into having more faith in a power greater than herself.
